Description
My name is Luc-Alban Lhoste. I was born and raised in the Ain department at the foot of the Jura Mountains. Since I was a child, my curiosity has been boundless, and admiring the world around me has been one of my favorite pastimes. As a result, biology was an obvious choice for me in high school, especially when I discovered genetics. For me, it is a way to understand but also to admire living things, in all their complexity and beauty.
I was able to pursue my passion for biology by continuing my studies at Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in life sciences with a concentration in genetics, followed by a master’s degree in molecular and cellular biology with a concentration in genopathology. Today, I am fortunate to be completing my training with an internship alongside Phoebe Rassinoux as part of the GIGLIA-MARI team. I am following her project on oxidative stress in spinal muscular atrophy. My professional experience and studies have only reinforced my desire to become a researcher and deepened my desire to better understand the puzzles of life.
Beyond biology, other passions bring me joy in life. Sport is a way for me to relax and enjoy the present moment, whether on a climbing wall, during a judo match, or on a hike in the mountains. Music also sets the pace for my life and helps me to motivate and calm myself. I also enjoy reading and letting my mind wander into philosophical reflections. Finally, I love sharing with others about their passions and all kinds of topics to learn to see the world from multiple perspectives.
All these things make me who I am and allow me to see life in different ways: science and sharing with others allow me to understand, music and reflection allow me to dream, and sport allows me to enjoy the moment.
