🔬 We Are Recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow (MSCA-PF 2026)

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to apply for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) 2026.

📅 Deadline: September 9th, 2026

🧬 Our Research Focus

Our goal is to better understand Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) by uncovering previously unexplored functions of the Survival Motor Neuron (SMN) protein.

We aim to move beyond its classical roles and dissect how SMN contributes to cellular homeostasis and neuronal vulnerability.

🔍 Research Directions

We propose three interconnected research axes:

1) SMN and oxidative DNA damage repair
Is SMN a key regulator of genome integrity under oxidative stress?
We believe so — and we are working to uncover the underlying mechanisms.

2) SMN and nucleolar homeostasis
How does SMN coordinate nucleolar reorganization following DNA damage?
We are particularly interested in SUMOylation-dependent mechanisms.

3) SMN and nuclear architecture
How do SMN-containing structures, such as Cajal bodies, dynamically reorganize under stress conditions?
This project offers a unique opportunity to address this question using cutting-edge super-resolution microscopy.
